Cryto Coding Collective

Mirrors

Introduction

The Cryto Coding Collective also hosts several (both official and unofficial) mirrors for free software projects - most notably projects that have unstable or slow websites, or can only support a limited amount of users. All of the downloads here (except for Skype4Pidgin) are directly mirrored from the original download source using the TCFBot mirror feature.

Bitcoin (site / video)

Bitcoin is a decentralized peer-to-peer cryptocurrency. We host mirrors for the main Bitcoin client, as well as periodical blockchain backups to get started more quickly.

Bitcoin for Windows 0.3.24 (zip)
Bitcoin for Linux 0.3.24
Bitcoin for Mac OS X 0.3.24

Blockchain downloads
You can download a recent backup of the blockchain here to get started with Bitcoin more quickly (this is the 'transaction history' that you normally get from other peers).
Be sure to let Bitcoin run for at least an hour after importing these blockchains, to let your client validate that the blockchain is legitimate and not modified. It may take longer to get 'in sync' with the network, depending on how old your blockchain is.

Skype4Pidgin

This is a Pidgin plugin that allows use of the Skype API within Pidgin - this way you can talk to people from Pidgin without having to use the Skype interface. However, it still requires Skype to be running.

Place the plugin in /usr/lib/purple or ~/.purple/plugins .
