The database

The full “database” is in fact a .js file defining a few JSON objects. It can be found at http://www.cryto.net/openmedia/data.js. You are free to directly hotlink it in your code to always have an up to date database.

omp_sites

omp_sites is an object that holds the various supported sites and the associated templates. The following variables should be replaced with the appropriate values:

Variable Explanation
$w The width of the player.
$h The height of the player.
$s0, $s1, …, $sX The parameters that are passed. Usually the first parameter ($s0) is a video ID or video file URL.

omp_videos

This object defines the actual videos in the database. The top level entries are the various categories, each category contains videos. For each video element, the array key is the unique ID, and the value is an array with video properties. name indicates the video title, site indicates what template should be applied (or the special type flv), description gives a short description of the video, and parameters contains the video parameters (such as video ID, or video file URL).

Example categories with videos:

But the world is awakening, and the experience is something outside the normal rules of social interaction, causing excitement in those who are not served by the current system... and fear in those who are pampered by it.\n\nThis documentary attempts to present these events using the video, audio and written content uploaded to the internet by the collective human consciousness comprised of every individual participant.\n\nOh yes, change is coming... and it will be more dramatic than anybody can imagine.",

This way, they ensure the continuous demand for more bulbs and hence, long-term profit for themselves.",

		"site": "youtube",
		"description": "This documentary details the root causes of the systemic value disorders and detrimental symptoms caused by our current established system. This video presentation advocates a new socio-economic system, which is updated to present-day knowledge, featuring the life-long work of Social Engineer, Futurist, Inventor and Industrial Designer Jacque Fresco, which he calls a Resource-Based Economy.\n\nThe film details the need to outgrow the dated and inefficient methods of politics, law, business, or any other \"establishment\" notions of human affairs, and use the methods of science, combined with high technology, to provide for the needs of all the world's people. It is not based on the opinions of the political and financial elite or on illusionary so-called democracies, but on maintaining a dynamic equilibrium with the planet that could ultimately provide abundance for all people.\n\nParadise or Oblivion, by The Venus Project, introduces the viewer to a more appropriate value system that would be required to enable this caring and holistic approach to benefit human civilization. This alternative surpasses the need for a monetary-based, controlled, and scarcity-oriented environment, which we find ourselves in today.\n\nIf you would like to help with the creation of a translation for this and/or other TVP videos, please write to LinguisticTeam@thevenusproject.com",

The special type ''flv''

This special type denotes a simple flv or mp4 video URL that can be played by for example jwplayer (as is the case on the current site). No template for it exists in the omp_sites object, and it is separately handled by the code.
